fading tulips
photo heart connection march
the mesmerizing beauty of decay
a week ago my neighbor came by with a bunch of beautiful tulips. i took some shots of them and put them on one of my blogs
after a week they began to fade, the shape and texture of the flowers becoming even more beautiful and captivating
these shots remind me of 17th century still life flower paintings
These are all beautiful, but the second one is my favorite.

These to me are even more beautiful than the perfect petals of just opening tulips. I love the way you photographed them -- the particular light and dark background. These are some of the most exquisite I have seen to date. Kudos to you!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI was thinking the same, it's very "Dutch painter" light! Wonderful job creating that effect and capturing the wonderful beauty of decay in these. Thanks for sharing in the Photo-Heart Connection!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful images. I think the bottom two, the more decayed ones are my favourites.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely lighting and beautiful vibrant colours. I like the top right red tulip the best, though I agree that all stages of a flower's life are beautiful. I wasn't quite sure which photo you had chosen for the heart-connection this month!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThere is beauty even in decay . . . you captured it so well.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWonderful colors and composition, the more decayed ones are my favorites. Great photo-heart connection
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes, I agree. It does look like the old masters paintings. Visiting from the post card swap!
